Meet Our Outstanding Doctors
Dr. Raymond A. Niceforo
Dr. Niceforo was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY where he attended grammar school at Regina Pacis Elementary School and Xaverian High School. His college years were spent at St. John’s University in Queens, NY where he majored in Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with minors in chemistry and psychology. Dr. Niceforo was accepted at SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1979 and decided to leave his hometown of Brooklyn for snow country. He says, “The 4 years in Buffalo were the greatest. I’ve made lifelong friends and am part of one of the greatest classes to pass thru the dental school.” After graduation, he became associated with Don Hayes, DDS ’51 in East Aurora, bought the dental practice and has remained in Western New York for 35 years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Eigth District Dental Society and Erie County Dental Society.
Dr. Niceforo in addition to his office hours takes care of the elderly at various healthcare facilities in the Buffalo area. He is a member of the Apollonian Guild, a chairitable organization providing dentistry for those who can’t afford it. Dr. Niceforo also runs a missionary trip to Guatemala every year which has grown for a location without running water, minimal electricity, no heat, and limited supplies to a clinic that has four running operatories, a sterilization area, and is capable of seeing 250-300 patients in one week. He also received the 2018 UB School of Medicine Humanitarian Award for his charitable contributions.
Dr. Niceforo is an avid bowler in the Buffalo Dental League and he is a musician with Central Groove, a band composed of mostly UB Dental Alumni.
Dr. David A. Braun
Dr. Braun was born in Kenmore, New York. He attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute for his high school education. He graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo, with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree in 1983, Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Braun attended S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he obtained his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then completed a one year General Dentistry residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital. Dr. Braun has attended hundreds of hours of continuing education on Dental Implantology, Oral Surgery and Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Braun is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, Erie County Dental Society, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, University of Buffalo Dental Alumni Association and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Braun has been in Private Practice 30+ years. He is married with four children, five grandchildren and resides in Hamburg, New York. He enjoys golfing, skiing and just being outdoors, enjoying nature. He loves spending time with his children and grandchildren, going to as many of their activities as possible.
Dr. Chris Nowak
Dr. Nowak was born and raised in West Seneca, New York. He graduated from St. Francis High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Canisius College in 2011.
Dr. Nowak obtained his Degree of Dental Surgery from SUNY Buffalo in 2015 and went on to complete a General Practice Residency with St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY.
During his training, he was fortunate to travel to rural Tennessee and the Dominican Republic to treat those without access to care. Dr. Nowak has also completed continuing education classes in Appliance and Straight Wire Orthodontics, placing Implants, and Esthetics Dentistry.

I recently experienced tooth pain and was immediately given an appointment only to find that one of my wisdom teeth had cracked. Dr. Niceforo is my fantastic dentist of many years but last night Dr. Nowak took care of me. He is young, confident, caring and supremely trained. He explained he could remove the tooth and the one above it, which was also impacted, right then and there. I thought, if Dr. Niceforo hired you then you must be good- give it your best shot. He immediately got to work. Zero pain during the procedure. Zero pain after the procedure. I only took a couple of Motrin but really didn't need them. No one at work could believe it when I showed up less than 14 hours after the extractions with NO swelling. I now call Dr. Nowak "The Wizard of Wisdom Teeth." I would like to thank Dr. Nowak and the entire staff for their outstanding work.
